There is absolutely no substitute for this type of work. If you’re going to get good at carrying heavy loads over long distances then you need to practice it. You need to get comfortable under that weight and you need to build the structures that will support you. Even if you walk on a treadmill with 100lbs on your back, it’s building your capacity and sharpening your mind. This is meant to be an easy-moderate session but you still need to get after it.
